Main Bearing Bore

These pictures (below) are of the bearing bore -- inside and out -- of a '90 XV1100. All '80s and '90s adult-sized XV's ran a peculiar bearing; I believe it was a 60309. It measured 40mmx92mmx23mm. As far as my research has gone, these are available only from Yamaha and a bearing supply house in -- I believe -- Belarus. They are available ONLY in "deep groove, single ball." If they were 40mmx90mmx23mm, they would be 6308s and available in all sorts of configurations: including spherical (double-row barrel-shaped rollers) that allow mis-alignment between the races -- the inner could pivot independently of the outer. Sadly, they don'[t fit. About ten years ago there was a fellow in New Zealand offering adapters to run 6308s. He abruptly halted production for fear of liability issues

The shots of the bearing disc are what was broken out of a late model XV750. Obviously, the races are held in place and the cases cast around them.
